To ensure a proper party vibe, it also will be a kid-free travel zone, with a minimum age to sail of 18. Like the Oasis-class ships, it's able to hold nearly 7,000 passengers with all berths filled — 6,762, to be exact. Note that in some cases, the new ships coming in 2023 will arrive months behind schedule due to ongoing pandemic-related construction delays at the shipyards that are building them. Thanks to these delays, the first sailings of a few ships that were expected to debut in 2023 — including Royal Caribbean's much-awaited Icon of the Seas — have been pushed to 2024.

As for its onboard offerings, MSC Cruises is taking a page from Royal Caribbean's playbook by breaking down the public areas of MSC World Europa into districts. They include an adults-only "Zen district" and a separate "family district" that houses as many as 10 new kids facilities. Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry. Since the start, it's been our aim to provide the latest cruise news covering all the major cruise lines. We make sure cruisers are fully prepared for their cruise vacation with tips on ships and ports.Millions of travelers rely on Cruise Hive in the United States, Europe, Australia, and around the world.

The fourth of Virgin Voyages Ladyships, Brilliant Lady, is set to debut at the end of 2023, when she will join her sisters Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady. The four ships are pretty much identical - I mean if it works, why change it right? You can expect fabulous included restaurants (22 in fact) - none of which carry a supplement, not even the fabulous Wake, a high end steak and seafood restaurant, or the innovative Test Kitchen. The second ship to join Ambassador Cruise Line will be Ambition, a smaller ship offering motor traditional.

Silver Nova, Silversea Cruises

The ship also has an expanded luxury retail space, where guests can indulge in the products of Piaget, Cartier, Bvlgari. The Shores neighborhood, situated directly above Currents, is designed to evoke piers, boardwalks, and beaches, with a Ferris wheel-inspired ceiling, wood plank floors, and eateries offering goodies like pizza and hot dogs. Two of Carnival Cruise Line’s top specialty restaurants are found in Shores, Rudi’s Seagrill and Cucina del Capitano. Besides the top three vote-getters, other new ships were included in the Best New Cruise Ship category, including a few constructed by the industry’s top luxury lines. The Cruise Hive Awards opened on October 1 and closed on Friday, December 22, with all valid votes tabulated to select the winners in each of the eight award categories. The awards have been an annual feature since 2014, and offer cruise fan insights into different cruise lines and experiences.

Virgin Voyages' Resilient Lady

The line also offers thoughtful dining packages to help make visiting these venues less restrictive and costs more manageable. Oceania Cruises’ first new build in 11 years, the 1,200-passenger Vista, debuts in June in the Mediterranean. The ship offers an impressive 12 dining options—important on an upscale line that prides itself on its popularity with foodies. Vista will have the line’s signature cooking school and largest-in-fleet staterooms. At the top end, palatial Owner’s Suites are being styled by Ralph Lauren Home, which is also decorating the top-of-ship library. The latest “world’s most luxurious cruise ship” from Regent Seven Seas Cruises (each new vessel outdoes the last in terms of extreme luxury) debuts in Europe in November, before a season in North and Central America.

New Cruise Ships Coming in 2023 That We Can't Wait to See

The ship will have 2641 passenger cabins, divided into 22 different categories, including 2-deck duplex apartments. Carnival Jubilee will also share many similarities with her sister ships, including Grand Central day-to night entertainment complex; French Quarter with its many eateries; La Piazza; and Summer Landing. The all-balcony Silver Nova (a first for Silversea), will offer 728 guests an ultra luxury cruise experience with 270 degree unobstructed views to boot. Her revolutionary asymmetrical design will provide vast open areas and more space than ever before.

She’s the first ship in the world to use advanced hybrid technology, which means there will be zero harmful emissions while the ship is in port, leading the way in eco-friendly cruising. MSC Cruises’ new ship for 2023, MSC Euribia, is built on the principles of environmental stewardship – she is one of the most eco-friendly cruise ships sailing the oceans. Seabourn Pursuit is the second Seabourn expedition ship for the cruise line, following the launch of her sister Seabourn Venture in 2022. While Seabourn is known for its outstanding luxury cruises, these expedition ships take things to another level when it comes to destination cruising. “For the most part, luxury cruises appeal to a segment of travelers looking for similar experiences on land – more luxurious offerings, fewer crowds, and phenomenal activities. Luxury cruises tend to be longer than other cruises, so they appeal to guests who have ample time for vacation,” she adds.

Silver Nova's main pool area, for instance, will have an unusual horseshoe shape with an orientation that runs from the port side of the ship to the starboard side. Like Scarlet Lady and Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady has been designed to shake up the cruise industry with a new, hipper style of cruising. The ship will have everything from a tattoo parlor to a colorful karaoke lounge where you can get your Lizzo on.

Category 6 is a sprawling water park that includes the slides, the first family raft slide and mat racers. Get up your courage to try the Frighteningbolt, which is the tallest waterslide to sail. MSC Euribia is named after the Greek goddess, Eurybia, who harnessed the winds and weather to master the seas. Celebrity goes for a more serene feel on its ships, so you won’t find any water slides or rock climbing walls on the Ascent, but there will be plenty of theaters and shows. Expect plenty of eye-catching features such as the cascading waterfall sculpture at the entrance to the restaurant leading to a ‘forest’ of illuminated crystal-covered trees inside. Youngsters will love splashing around in the Coral Reef Aquapark, one of the largest at sea, while adults can chill in the serene Zen zone.

Many ships on the 2023 order book have been under construction, and there are some exciting new vessels coming this year. Virgin Voyages is relatively new to the cruising game, but that doesn’t mean that the line is lacking in any way. The line’s unique, adults-only cruising experience is one you won’t find anywhere else, with its party-esque atmosphere alongside a high level of luxury.

Vista will also be the first Oceania vessel with built-from-scratch solo cabins — six in all. They'll measure 270 square feet and feature their own balconies, something that is relatively rare for solo cabins on ocean ships. Perhaps the most notable new cruise ship of 2023 will be MSC World Europa, the first of a new series of megaships from MSC Cruises that is designed to go head-to-head with Royal Caribbean's giant Oasis-class ships. The fourth ship from Virgin Voyages, Brilliant Lady will follow the same design as its predecessors. While not much has been announced regarding the ship thus far, you can expect a good array of restaurants (while the ship forgoes the traditional buffet and main dining rooms that are common on other cruise lines).

Ticking off a list of first for Silversea, this ship will the first to feature all-balcony cabins, it will be the largest and most spacious in the fleet and the most environmentally friendly. An offshoot of the giant MSC Group, the line’s first ship Explora I will depart from Copenhagen on its maiden voyage. Cruise ships may already be plentiful in number but 2023 heralds the arrival of many more exciting new vessels across multiple cruise lines and cruising styles. This year we can look forward to a plethora of new cruise ships debuting, ranging from sleek, luxury yachts, to mega-ships and everything in between.

By definition, small ships hold fewer than 1200 passengers, usually making the cruise experience more intimate with more individualized service. The luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas will launch a new cruise ship, Seven Seas Grandeur, as a third sister ship to Explorer and Splendor. The maiden voyage will be a week-long journey that travels from Venice to Barcelona. The Ascent will have 32 distinct restaurants, 14 cafes, bars and lunges, 8 specialty restaurants, 4 main dining restaurants, 4 casual dining venues and 2 exclusive restaurants. Passengers who book The Retreat on Celebrity Ascent will have an exclusive private restaurant, sundeck and exclusive spaces. The retreat includes two-story Edge Villas with outdoor plunge pools, and a butler comes along with the suite accommodations.

American Eagle and American Glory will be the first of 12 planned vessels in the line’s “Coastal Cat” series, also known as “Project Blue,” when they begin sailing along the East Coast in August and October 2023, respectively. The extra space has allowed Silversea to expand its lineup of cabin categories on the ship, with more large suites. As is always the case with Silversea ships, every cabin on the ship will be a suite. However, Silversea fans will find new premium aft suites that include a massive 1,324-square-foot complex called the Otium Suite. Inspired by Silversea's new wellness program, Otium, the Otium Suite is in a premium aft corner position of the ship (according to the cruise line) and features floor-to-ceiling windows in all living areas.

If you are a regular reader, or follow me on social media, you will know that I am obsessed with Celebrity Cruises, and in particular their newest ship, Celebrity Beyond. Having sailed on her in 2022, I felt that she would be a hard act to follow, but having done my research, I think Celebrity may just manage to top their best with Celebrity Ascent. With its endless dedication to kids, Disney Cruise Line breezes to the top of the pack when it comes to the family cruise experience. Larger-than-average staterooms with double-bathrooms, free room service and fountain sodas, and Disney’s spectacular kids facilities and production shows help set the line apart.
